The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sales and business development leader to drive growth and commercialization of intelligent thru wall packaged heat pumps in the multifamily, hospitality, student housing and modular construction markets
Reporting to GM AIIR business, this will be a critical member of the business leadership team who will be responsible driving profitable growth of intelligent HVAC packaged thru wall variable speed AI enabled heat pumps for use in light commercial and residential applications such as single/multifamily homes, schools, hotels etc. This role will be responsible for leading and driving profitable growth of AIIR intelligent HVAC product portfolio through developing and managing a nationwide rep/distribution network as well as directly leading business development with large strategic national accounts.
This position will be responsible for all aspects of sales leadership from driving annual sales goals, pipeline & funnel management, manufacturer representative network development/management and direct strategic accounts business development by partnering and collaborating with product management, marketing and operations. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong communication, presentation, cross-functional & sales team leadership experience, business/financial acumen and interpersonal skills.

Essential Job Functions
- Develop and manage a professional manufacturer’s rep and distribution network to exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals
- Build out rep network in territories and regions that are not adequately covered by the existing distribution network by managing the entire process of signing new contracts, onboarding/training and driving sales funnel with new representatives.
- Lead business development efforts with direct strategic accounts to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Own the communication to the channel and end customers for all commercial matters pertaining to product availability, pricing, sales goals, contract terms, delivery, shipping, quoting, invoicing etc.
- Lead pipeline/funnel management with rep sales regionally and provide monthly forecast updates for operational planning and financial reporting.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the overall market, including overall size/growth by submarket & applications, industry trends/landscape, competitive & customer insights.
- Collaborate with marketing and product management to develop and deliver sales enablement training materials for manufacturers, reps and distributors.
- Partner and collaborate with product management and marketing leaders to identify growth opportunities and drive new product customer penetration.
- Active participation in SIOP process, providing guidance on sales volume forecast by region, new product demand streams, relevant product mix requirements in alignment with defined process needs
- Lead efforts in supporting development of strategic plan & AOP including detailed assessment of market, competition, customer/ business growth plans and specific levers driving topline revenue for AIIR business.
Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing, business, engineering, MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively increasing leadership roles in sales, business development, product management functions
- Experience in residential & commercial HVAC/R sales in multifamily, hospitality, residential and commercial buildings industry is a significant plus
- Proven track record of progressive leadership responsibility in exceeding sales targets, leading direct and indirect sales teams and driving new business growth.
- Value and consultative sales experience with ability to drive specifications in early design and bidding stages of new construction projects.
- Demonstrated strategic decision-making skills regarding customer requirements, pricing, customer problems, SIOP forecast/inventory, commercial Ts/Cs and similar business related concerns.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, interact, and influence at all levels of the organization to drive results.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to develop trusted, respectful relationships internally and externally.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of personal initiative, energy and ownership of business results.
- Solid experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required.
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Proven ability to lead courageously, to drive complex manufacturers rep network to success in challenging situations.
- Strong program and project management skills across sales cycle for identification of opportunity to closure of deals
- Strong Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications required. Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.
